Risk Management

Risk management is a hot topic for transit agencies. Transit systems, like other service providers, face some kind of risk every day, whether from employee injury, vehicle damage, passenger liability, or another event. This training offers a "big picture" look at managing your transit agency's risk. Most organizations think of risk management only in terms of liability and accident insurance, but there are many other significant perils. This class covers risks associated with property, people, reputation and income. SURTC's training provides a proactive course of action to assist you in protecting your transit system's assets and income by identifying possible causes of accidents or losses, and offers deliberate steps you can take to either prevent or better absorb the losses through risk control, risk transfer, risk removal, and risk retention.
