Training & OutreachFinancial Management for Transit Operators Transit systems need complete and accurate financial data in order to manage the operation of their program. It is critical that the transit agency manager understand how operating decisions impact their financial picture, and the true costs of operating the system so decisions are made with the most accurate information possible. Transit projects are also required to report to their board of directors and funding sources how their money was spent, what revenues were realized and the financial status of the organization. This course covers accounting fundamentals; revenue management; contracting; local match; cost allocations; budgeting; audits; and developing 3 – 5 year management plans.
