Training & OutreachManaging People Effectively – Solving Human Resource Management Problems Employee hiring and managing staff are two of the most critical skills for developing and maintaining a vibrant, customer service-oriented and successful agency. Are your current job descriptions free of references to age, gender, and physical abilities except as necessary to perform the critical functions of the position? Are your application forms up-to-date, and do they meet all legal requirements? Do you know what interview questions can get you into trouble? What can you do if you inherit a problem employee? This class will provide you with important information to guide your human resource decision making efforts. In addition, you will learn: objective documentation skills; how to evaluate your current employee handbook; effective disciplinary corrective action methods; and how to stay out of court when terminating employees. Attendees receive a take-home CD for updating your current employee handbook/policy & procedure manual. The template allows each participant to insert their own specific information, creating a policy manual customized for their agency. (Full day or half day course) |
