Marketing on a Shoe String Budget
Thursday, Sept. 16, 2004
10:00 - 2:00 p.m. (Central Time)
Most transportation providers, large or small, don't have the resources to work with an advertising agency to promote their service or help with their fund raising efforts. They must find ways to market their services or advertise their fund-raiser on a limited (or non-existent) budget. You'll learn some of the "inside" tricks that marketers know. This module will help you create professional looking marketing pieces on a shoe-string budget.
Instructor
Lyn Hellegaard is Director of Community Affairs for the Missoula Ravalli TMA. She came to MR TMA from a 20-year career in the financial field, serving as an AVP at First Interstate Bank. Her responsibilities included serving as consumer loan officer and manager of the Marketing and Investment Departments. Lyn was an adult instructor for the American Institute of Banking for three years, conducting classes in lending, marketing and customer service.
In her current position, Lyn is responsible for all activities related to public relations and marketing. Her administrative duties include fiscal and contract oversight and grant writing. She has spearheaded the building of a new transit center in Missoula. She has also assumed the coordinator responsibilities for the Montana Transit Association to include coordinating activities for the Annual State Conference, Business Meeting, and Bus Roadeo.
During her tenure, MTA has doubled its membership and initiated a silent auction at the Spring Conference which resulted in fun for MTA members and sustainability for the Orval Meyer Scholarship fund. She transformed the newsletter from black and white to full color publication. Through her sponsorship work MTA is more financially secure then ever in it's history.
