This webinar will address results from a study conducted in North Dakota by Del Peterson from the Small Urban and Rural Transit Center which quantified the cost of living at home and riding transit in ND versus relocating to an assisted living facility. It will also provide strategies for reaching out to older adults living in their homes and their families, including resources which make it possible for them to remain independent for as long as it is feasible for them to do so. In addition, potential marketing strategies will be presented utilizing the results of the study to reach people who may be in the process of facing these difficult decisions. Presenters include: Lucinda Shannon, NCST, Moderator; Del Peterson, SURTC Associate Research Fellow; Carol Wright, SURTC, Associate Director of Training & Outreach; and Pat Hansen, Executive Director, South Central Adult Services Council, Valley City, ND.
