Transit's Role in Small Urban Sprawl

The objectives of this study are to determine what steps small urban transit providers are currently taking to integrate transit service into sprawling communities, and to also determine what can be done to improve relationships with local governments during the land development planning process. Attention will also be given to a transit agency's ability to provide new service with limited financial capabilities. Rising energy prices (i.e. diesel fuel) may play a significant role in determining whether or not new service can be provided, given current funding levels.
